Job Description

Collections Specialist Job Summary:

MGA seeks an experienced Home Health Collections Specialist for a full-time opportunity available in our Phoenix, AZ office. In this position, you're responsible for tracking consumer accounts to ensure the accuracy of current payments.

Collections Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with insurance companies about the status, resubmission, and appeal of claims
  • Ensure timely insurance appeals for denied or underpaid claims
  • Work outstanding claims reports as assigned
  • Verify patient insurance coverage when necessary for denials
  • Post contractual adjustments when necessary
  • Communicate effectively with billing staff and management
  • Document all insurance conversations and claim transactions in the management system
  • Recognize and analyze billing and collection problems
  • Determine solutions to problems independently
  • Provide various support services within the department
  • Reduce delinquency for assigned accounts
  • Support and executes the mission, ethics, and goals of the company effectively.
  • Perform all other duties assigned by Director of Finance

Collections Specialist Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Billing or collections experience is preferred (Colorado Medicaid experience a big plus!)
  • Knowledge of billing and collections procedures
